Governing DocumentsSetup guidance in this app follows the "Safety at Street Works" Code of Practice 2013 and the Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8. These documents take precedence over this app in the event of any discrepancy.
RecordsA site record (crew, permit reference, GPS location, photographs and time) should be kept for every job and retained per your company's record-keeping policy.
Temporary Traffic SignalsNot covered by this app's automated guidance. Refer to your manager and the Chapter 8 reference guide before installing temporary traffic lights.
Bends & Restricted Sight LinesWhere visibility is reduced, standard distances may not be sufficient. Refer to manager before proceeding.
Night-Time & Unattended SitesWarning lights must be fitted to cones/barriers at the taper and works boundary. Check local lighting-up times. Unattended sites overnight require illuminated warning lamps to remain in place and functioning.
ConesOut Terms of Use Who ConesOut is for. ConesOut is built for qualified street works operatives and their supervisors. Using it does not make anyone qualified: you must hold current NRSWA accreditation (or the equivalent required in your region) and work within your employer's safe systems of work. If you are not qualified to set out signing, lighting and guarding, do not rely on this app to do so.
What ConesOut is - and is not. ConesOut turns your selections into a suggested setup based on published UK guidance. It is a planning and memory aid, nothing more. It cannot see your site. Every job needs its own risk assessment, and a competent person must walk the site and confirm the setup before work starts. Where anything in this app differs from the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice (2013), the Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8, current legislation, or an instruction for your specific site, those sources win - always. In Northern Ireland, follow the corresponding NI legislation and TSR(NI).
Your responsibilities. You are responsible for the decisions you make on site, for checking that ConesOut's output suits the actual conditions in front of you, and for stopping and referring to your manager whenever something on site does not match what the app assumes - bends, restricted visibility, signals, high-speed dual carriageways and motorways included.
Our position. ConesOut is provided by Courseway Ltd as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Courseway Ltd accepts no liability for loss, damage, injury or enforcement action arising from use of, or reliance on, this app. Nothing here excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

ConesOut Privacy Notice Who we are. ConesOut is operated by Courseway Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal information described below.
What we collect and why. When you log in, your username and passcode are checked against our user database so we can confirm your access. That is the only personal information sent to our servers by this app. We do not run adverts, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
What stays on your device. GPS location used in Walk-Out mode, site photos, crew names and site records are processed on your device only. They are placed into the PDF you generate and are not uploaded to us. Your login session is saved on your device so you stay signed in; tapping Sign Out removes it.
Where account data is held. Account records are stored with our database provider (Supabase) and are kept only for as long as your account is active or as the law requires.
Your rights. Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Contact your account administrator or Courseway Ltd to make a request.
Changes. If ConesOut starts collecting anything new - for example usage statistics to improve the app - this notice will be updated first and the change will be flagged in the app.
